[ARCHIVED] Excelsior Declares Temporary Curfew

In order to best protect our residents, businesses, and community during these troubled times, I have enacted a local emergency declaration and have declared a curfew for the City of Excelsior from 8 p.m. this evening until 6 a.m. tomorrow morning (May 31), as well as from 8 p.m. tomorrow evening until 6 a.m. on Monday (June 1) .

This declaration is being made after consultation with our local public safety officials and our sister cities of Shorewood, Tonka Bay and Greenwood.  While there are no current credible threats to the City of Excelsior or the South Lake area, as we have seen in recent days the situation can change very quickly.

On behalf of City Staff and the Excelsior City Council, let’s continue to look out for one another, support one another, and work to make our community the best it can be for all who live here and visit.

Mayor – City of Excelsior
